- filter show commands using the pipe
begin, include, exclude, section
- use end-of-string character ($) to find trailing spaces.
- show running-config interfaces, class-map, policy-map
- filter output of the more command.
- begin (/), include (+), exclude (-)

use the logging buffer

- logging can overwhelm you and the console:

solution:

- no logging console, or terminal no monitor
- logging buffer 100000
- enables log filters such as: show log | include
